Zenwise Health Digestive Enzymes Review
Editor's Rating:
This review looks at a product manufactured by Zenwise Health, which is designed to improve the user’s digestion. It contains 10 different enzymes, which are special proteins that break down complex molecules present in food to help with their absorption. It also contains a variety of other ingredients which are meant to aid the digestive system and provide a probiotic effect. Importantly, it is also designed to reduce any discomfort that is experienced during the digestion process especially for those who suffer from digestive conditions such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).

This product contains 10 enzymes which collectively breakdown carbohydrates, fats and proteins. Six of the enzymes mentioned (amylase, glucoamylase, invertase, maltase, cellulase and lactase) breakdown carbohydrates which are most commonly the source of digestive discomfort because they can be so chemically complex. Protease, bromelain and papain are concerned with the breakdown of proteins which can also be chemically complex but not as much as carbohydrates. Lastly, there is lipase which breaks down fat.
The remainder of the ingredients also contribute to digestion but in indirect ways. Papane softens food which makes it more accessible for the enzymes to work on. Apple pectin, nori and wakame are all good sources of dietary fiber. Tumeric and ginger are known metabolism enhancers, so they help the contained digestive enzymes to conduct their function. Peppermint and fennel are plant compounds which have been clinically tested for their role in reducing spasms and inflammation in the colon.
Bladderwrack has no direct effect on digestion but scientific research has explored the link between the increase in thyroid hormone, caused by bladderwrack, and beneficial digestive effects.
This product also contains prebiotic ingredients as well as a probiotic complex. Many digestive problems have been associated with an imbalance of the bacteria in the gut. Probiotics contain the bacteria which are beneficial to digestion while prebiotic compounds contain the nutrients which promote the survival of these bacteria.
Dosage
The manufacturer states that one capsule must be taken before each meal, which we infer to be 3 times a day. Each capsule contains 350 mg of digestive enzymes, giving a daily dose of 1050 mg of digestive enzymes. It is highly recommended not to exceed the dosage.
Possible Side Effects
No adverse effects have been associated with the use of this product but pregnant and breastfeeding women as well as children or anyone receiving chronic medical treatment must consult a physician before using it.
Price
It is available for purchase online through the manufacturer’s website
This product is available in packages of 25 capsules for $10.97, 60 capsules for $15.97 and 180 capsules for $21.97. This is the largest amount that can be purchased in one package and if more capsules are required, more packages must be bought. It is therefore unfortunate since this product is for long-term use that no discount is offered for buying several packages at once.
Guarantee
Zenwise offers a complete money back guarantee. They do not however state how long the guarantee is valid for after the purchase or if it is valid after a certain number of capsules had been taken.
The product reviews are mostly positive for this enzyme blend but a few customers did complain that it did not work for them.
Our Zenwise Health Digestive Enzymes Review – Conclusion
This product contains a variety of enzymes which work together to act on the three major classes of molecules found in food. Zenwise Health Digestive Enzymes are also contained in a cellulose capsule which is suitable for vegetarians and vegans and they offer the product at a low price.
We do have some doubts about the efficacy of this product though. The reason we have this doubt is because some customers have reported that the product does not work for them and the manufacturer offers only a very vague guarantee. If they were truly confident in their product, they would be clear as to what their returns policy is.
